In a news release from the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, the frozen swai (Siluriformes) fish fillet items from Corfu Foods, Inc., of Bensonville, were imported on Jan. 15, 2022.

The affected products were imported in 15-pound bulk packages labeled “Pacific Dynasty Swai Fillets” with a lot code of “VN 461 VI 354,” the FSIS said.

The items were shipped to restaurants and retail locations in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin, according to the FSIS news release. Consumers may have bought the swai fillets in bulk or hand-wrapped from the fish counter at retailers, the agency stated.

The problem was discovered when a company notified FSIS that they received and further distributed the imported product without verifying that it had been presented for import reinspection.

Consumers who purchased the affected products can Corfu Foods at 630-595-2510 or send an email to cm@corfufoods.com.
