Stay home? No, no, no! We live for the weekend in Ann-Ventures, and this is a great one, kicking off with the Florida Strawberry Festival in Plant City on Thursday. Biscuit or sponge cake, whipped cream of just leave more room for the berries, it’s all delicious. Add a stellar lineup of live entertainment and you have it all! Exercise your artistic side with the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts in Tampa in Julian B Lane Park, and pay a visit to Tony Adams creating a masterpiece live on site. Tony paid me a visit in What’s Good In Tampa Bay and that podcast is ready for your listening pleasure now right here. What’s especially nice is that it’s a free event 9 am to 6 pm Saturday, and 10 am to 5 pm Sunday.
Like it loud? It’s time for the Grand Prix of St Petersburg, taking over the streets with action Friday through Sunday, with ticket prices ranging from $25-$155. If you want to get the day started early the gates open at 7:30 am Friday-Sunday. Remember to give yourself plenty of time with a great deal of the downtown area closed off for the track. But what a cool way to spend the weekend!
There’s also a chance to support women-owned businesses on Sunday from 12-4 pm at the Girl Gang’s Women’s Market on Cleveland Street in Downtown Clearwater.
