The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) temporarily closed access to the new shared-use pedestrian and bicycle path from the Pinellas side of the Howard Frankland Bridge at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, for maintenance. The path is scheduled to reopen before Saturday, August 8, 2026, weather permitting
But we can’t ignore school days kicking in next week entirely. Florida’s Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday runs through August 20th. We can buy qualifying clothing and shoes (under $100), school supplies (under $50), and computers/accessories (under $1,500) tax-free.
