Preppy Kitchen creator John Kanell didn’t need to write a cookbook. He already has a blog with over eight million followers and an Instagram site that you immediately send you into your own kitchen to give those seasonal recipes a try. But with the launch of his first cookbook PREPPY KITCHEN: Recipes for Seasonal Dishes and Simple Pleasures, you’ll have all you need to enjoy what you bring home from that weekly fresh market and create along with John from spring to winter.
So what brought a former middle school teacher that taught math and science, with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from UCLA into the kitchen? Combine the love of food that started with his family and a rich Greek and Mexican heritage, John took what he learned and blended that with his love of food and science, and Preppy Kitchen was born.
There’s a very good chance you’ve already seen John at work as a judge on Food Network’s Chopped: Sweets, and as a recurring judge on Disney’s Magic Bake-Off, or as a guest on numerous TV shows like The View, Good Morning America, The Today Show, Drew Barrymore Show or The Kelly Clarkson Show, among many others. But you can also catch up with him on his YouTube channel to dig right in and enjoy life in your own kitchen all over again.
But it’s my pleasure to let you hear from John himself when you click here. John’s book would be the perfect addition to your own kitchen, and now as part of Ann Kelly’s Kitchen. If you’d like to reach out to John, that’s as easy at another click here. Enjoy a new cooking Ann-Venture in Ann Kelly’s Kitchen and feel free to let me know which recipe, or recipes, are your favorite. Thanks for a fun interview John, and we’re all looking forward to your next book of delicious recipes, heartfelt stories and photos good enough to eat!
